walker2006au ::: Favorites 2007-11-13 06:53:35 nicely done!lovin the 1st song ill have to get that, only critism if any is how early it was mixed the 2nd song had hardly anything going on so a beatmatch and probly not much equalizer needed is all that was needed (guess i was hoping to be blown away) but it sounded perfect so good shit! I rekon I should start a channel for mix transitions etc have comps to see who can do best ie mix impossible to mix genres etc and rate my mix etc but then again 2 much effort, cheers for posting it up! __________________________________________________
jokergd ::: Favorites 2007-11-13 08:26:28 definitely some EQ work going on there :) I was using lows, mids & highs simultaneously... and I only had one shot to do it live it's actually part of a 1 hour mix I did, tho not all the mixes came out as good as this one __________________________________________________
jokergd ::: Favorites 2007-11-13 08:26:35 I'm not DJ Sasha, so yeah, it's not something mind-blowing I also don't usually mix stuff this fast (138+) I'll do another mix today or tomorrow with some slower tracks, 130ish as far as a mixing comp channel, sounds good, but may be unfair to participants, some mix live, some mix digitally, i don't feel its a fair matchup __________________________________________________
jokergd ::: Favorites 2007-11-13 08:32:09 thanks for the positive feed back for sure... also, the transition starts out already more than halfway through the first song, so I don't feel it's mixed out early, I just started this video at the first song's "mid point" __________________________________________________
walker2006au ::: Favorites 2007-11-16 00:07:11 its not about competition tho, I think you dont understand the true meaning of electronica, its not about how hard it is to make or mix just how it sounds and makes people feel, saying a digital mixer is talentless is pretty much saying every electronic song is talentless, if we were to have comps itd be hardware vs hardware etc __________________________________________________
jokergd ::: Favorites 2007-11-16 00:37:22 you're seriously high young man, I never said you're talentless I'm saying mixing on a digital medium such a PC is not a true test of mixing skills and my point is-- HOW ARE YOU GOING TO PROVE WHOS MIXING DIGITALLY AND WHO'S NOT? btw, saying I don't understand electronica is the most retarded thing you've said thus far, grasshopper :) __________________________________________________
walker2006au ::: Favorites 2007-11-16 00:51:38 Well I guess its down to people being honest, lying saying your mixing live but actually using a pc is pretty lame lol. Im not saying you dont but your stuff ud know 100 x more then me but you should know commercialisation (is that a word?) of electronica is killing it and seeing who the best mixer isnt the point its who makes it sound best even if its done with a $10 mixing program. __________________________________________________ |
