Judy Garland Pigskin Parade 1936 It's Love I'm After Sidney Mitchell Lew Pollack 20th Century Fox
Description: Great song sung by 14 year old Judy Garland for 20th Century Fox's "Pigskin Parade," the first feature length film in which she appeared. The movie is good from the view of someone who enjoys comedies from the 1930s. Judy's already a top professional and great on the three songs she sings for the film. Her part in the film is limited of course, but it's worth seeing, no doubt. It's out on DVD now. You'll enjoy it. |

etienne818 ::: Favorites 2007-12-24 18:39:57 Has there ever been more perfect diction in one so young? Just a couple of short years before, young Frances Gumm was leaving vaudeville audiences open-mouthed by her sheer artistry. They couldn't believe that a child of 12 could sing like a grown woman - this wasn't some silly American Idol overnight sensation, but a talent honed on stages across the US, since this little Frances was two. Judy Garland gained fame the old fashioned way - she earned it. __________________________________________________

marxfan8 ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 10:39:51 She was just a kid when she sang this, can you believe it? There will never be another like Judy Garland, never. __________________________________________________
bvheath ::: Favorites 2007-11-18 19:59:56 Well said, suprtenor. I couldn't agree more. She had a quality (vocal and something entirely mystic) that will never be matched. The closest, I suppose, I will ever get was seeing Liza at Radio City Music Hall in 1991. She was fabulous, but her mother was in a class of her own. __________________________________________________
suprtenor ::: Favorites 2007-11-08 23:05:36 This has got to be the best female voice I have ever heard. What power, technique, clarity, beauty and focus of tone. A really thrilling voice the likes of which we may never hear again. There have been some great voices but NOTHING can touch what this girl had. I can only imagine what it must have been like to hear her sing live, right infront of you unamplified. __________________________________________________
CJluvsdance ::: Favorites 2007-08-06 12:52:33 Wow what a voice. Her voice changed as she got older and had a different edge and power to it. Her voice is extremely clear here __________________________________________________
